Your Meal Plan: Costs and Funding
Meals on Wheels is for everyone! We’re here to help with affordable, nutritious meals, whether you qualify for subsidised options or simply need a meal delivered to your door. No matter your situation, we’ve got you covered. Explore the options below to see what costs apply to you.
Commonwealth Home Support Program
If you are over the age of 65 (or 50+ for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people), you can access subsidised meals through the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP). Meals on Wheels receives federal funding, and a small client contribution covers the rest. To get started, simply register with My Aged Care and ask for a referral to Bundaberg and District Meals on Wheels.

Home Care Packages
If you have a Home Care Package (HCP) Support at Home (SAH), the funds can cover meal preparation and delivery, with a small client contribution for the ingredients. Typically, HCP and SAH funding covers 70% of the meal cost, while you pay 30%. This can be as little as $5 per meal!
Simply ask your provider to choose Bundaberg and District Meals on Wheels as your meal delivery service, and we’ll take care of the rest.

National Disability Insurance Scheme
If your NDIS package includes the necessary line item, it can cover meal preparation and delivery costs, with a small client contribution for ingredients. Typically, 70% of the meal cost is covered by the package, and you pay the remaining 30%. This means you can receive meals for as low as $5 each, offering affordable, nutritious options while getting the support you need to stay independent.

Fee for Service
If you’re not eligible for the funding options mentioned above, you can still receive meals by paying the full fee.

Over the age of 65, or 50 if you identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, and not sure where to start?
